Community Access
Support to get out, connect, and participate in the community — on your terms, at your pace.
More than getting out of the house
Community access isn't just about transport or being somewhere in person. It's about connection, confidence, and being a full participant in the life of your community. We support you to do the things that matter to you — whatever that looks like.
Social Activities
Cafés, events, markets, clubs, movies — whatever you enjoy. We support you to get there and feel comfortable once you're in the door.
Shopping & Errands
Support with grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, banking, and other everyday errands that require getting out and about.
Appointments
Accompanying you to medical appointments, allied health, government offices, or any appointment where having support makes a difference.
Social Skills & Confidence
For participants who want support to build social confidence, navigate public spaces, or practise communication in real-world settings.
Interest-Based Activities
Sports, hobbies, cultural events, religious attendance — we support you to pursue what matters to you and stay connected to your community.
Transport Assistance
Getting there is part of the support. We can assist with transport to and from activities, including support to use public transport independently over time.
We follow your lead
Some people want a support worker who will step back and let them do things themselves, just being there for safety or confidence. Others want more active assistance. We adapt to what you need — and that can change from session to session.
We also understand that community access looks different for different people. For some it's about fun and connection. For others it's about building independence — learning to navigate a bus route, manage a shopping trip, or feel comfortable in a crowd. All of it is valid, and we're here for all of it.
Is this right for me?
Community access support is funded under the NDIS for participants who need assistance to participate in social and community activities due to their disability. It's available for self-managed and plan-managed participants.
If you're unsure whether your plan includes community participation funding, your plan manager or support coordinator can help — or contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
